MEADVILLE — Harley McKay, Emily Smith and Emilee Wallace combined to throw a perfect game as the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs hammered the Prentiss Lady Bulldogs in three innings Monday afternoon of what was supposed to have been the first game of an MHSAA Region 7-3A varsity doubleheader.

McKay was the winning pitcher as she started the game and struck out the side in order. Smith did the same thing in the top of the second inning and Wallace finished it off in the top of the third.

The Lady Bulldogs scored 15 runs in the bottom of the first inning and added five runs in the bottom of the second. Hayle McKinney went 2-for-2 with two triples and McKay was 2-for-2.

Franklin County led Prentiss 3-2 after one inning of play before a severe thunderstorm with golf-ball sized hail went through Meadville. Lady Bulldogs head coach Dana Smith said she didn’t no know when the game would resume.

Franklin County (2-9-2, 1-0) has a JV game at 5 p.m. and a varsity game at 6 p.m. Friday at West Marion.
