Delores Marvel of Natchez announces the engagement of her daughter, Alice Marie Marvel, to John Darryous Claiborne Jr., son of Beatrice Butler and John Claiborne Sr. of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Johnny Strauder of Natchez.

She is a graduate of Natchez High School and is employed by The Markets in Natchez.

She is the granddaughter of Florence Russell and the late Martha Swazy of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Natchez High School and is employed by the Isle of Capri in Natchez.

He is the grandson of the late Claudia Davis of Natchez and Mr. Joseph Claiborne of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Natchez Shrine Club.

A reception will follow.
