DODSON, La. — Services for Edward Langdon “Butch” Hendley Jr., 71, of Dodson, La., who died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southern Funeral Home with the Rev. Nick Verret and the Rev. Hudy Beaubouef officiating.

Burial will follow at Cypress Creek Cemetery in Dodson under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.

Mr. Hendley was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Natchez, the son of Edward L. Hendley Sr. and Kathryn Hendley. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dodson, a Master Mason and a member of Angleton Lodge No. 829 AF&AM in Angleton, Texas. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Hendley was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Lenora Hendley; one son, Andrew Hendley and wife, Tammy, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Angela Holman and husband, B.A., of Homewood, Ala.; three grandsons, Robert Hendley, Chad Hendley and Trey Holman; and one granddaughter, Ashley Hendley.
