Regarding the letter to the editor “Enlighten tourists with facts not fiction,” I feel compelled to reply.

In fairness to those antebellum houses on tour that take liberties with Natchez legends, let’s look at some others.

The city of Natchez, the National Park Service and those socially, culturally, politically and historically correct groups in Natchez have taken undocumented oral traditions and recorded them as facts.

A newcomer to Natchez told me if a story is repeated three times in Natchez, it becomes the truth.
