NATCHEZ — Two Natchez teenagers and one juvenile were arrested Monday on charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after they allegedly assaulted a man with a pistol and stole $600 from him.

Ronnie Scott Griffin Jr., 18, 348A State Park Road, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed robbery.

Zentrelle Marquis Harris, 18, 309 S. Bluebird Drive, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed robbery.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said the arrests stem from an apparent assault and robbery at 12:36 a.m. Friday at Riverwood Manor Apartments.

Griffin and Harris, as well as a juvenile who was arrested and another suspect who has not been arrested, called the victim and asked him to come outside.

“The subjects jumped on him and beat him with a pistol cutting his eye, breaking his nose and cutting his lip,” Mayfield said. “The suspects then took $600 from him and jumped in a vehicle and left the area.”

Mayfield said the investigation is ongoing and that deputies have leads on the fourth suspect involved.

No bond was set for Griffin or Harris as of late Monday.

Excuse me where does it say these boys were from New Orleans in the article, it very clearly states “two Natchez teenagers”? They would have been 10 at the time of Katrina…. Seems to me that Natchez produces it’s own share of problem children.

My advice to you all but especially @triedofthepandering these young men are not idiots nor criminals so it would be nice if you shut your mouth. You don’t know the full story so you shouldn’t be saying anything.

first of all… these were not katrina kids. secondly natchez does not produce problem children. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. but before the democrat posts stories they need to find out facts first. these kids are not idiots that a judge let out. they have never been in any type of trouble… PERIOD!!! & i hate the paper have them looking like there criminals. the armed robbery charges have not even been proven. these are just his words. there is a story behind the story. and if a child feels the need to do whats right by his mother then he has that right. and anyone that knows these kids and the situation will stand behind them one hundred percent. if u dont know dont judge

you are kidding right?? if these chump assess beat some one up, used a weapon in the process, and you are defending them, then you are part of the ongoing problem,,like the cuban crime wave of the 70s,, who cares if they are from new orleans or timbukto,, if they beat a man with a gun and stole his money, they have NO excuse,, pure panty waste,,

Please explain to me how pistol whipping somebody, lacerating them, and robbing them can ever be justified? No matter how dire your circumstances may be, you are never morally or legally justified to commit evil acts against another person or their property. You are gravely mistaken my friend…they do not have the right to violate another human being for any reason–they are lucky it didn’t cost them their lives, because the victim could have justifiably killed both of them in self defense. It seems to me, “doing right by his mother” would include not living up to the stereotypical banger thug…The way he could do right by his mother is get a job and become a decent, productive, tax paying citizen and support her with legally obtained money. The society in this country is disgraceful…the sense of entitlement is sickening. People think they are entitled to the fruits of someone else’s labor. Obamanation …how do you like that hope and change?
