WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, recently announced that voting is under way to choose the local artist that will represent the 5th Congressional District in the 2013 Congressional High School Arts Competition.

The public will select the winner through Alexander’s Facebook page — www.facebook.com/RepRodneyAlexander. Voting ends May 3. The art with the most “likes” will win.

“This contest sparks so much excitement from aspiring artists in the district,” Alexander said. “I am hopeful that since the public will select the winner, even more interest will be generated within local communities and schools throughout the region. Be sure to ‘like’ your favorite piece and then ‘share’ the album with friends to show your support for participating students.”
