JACKSON — The Mississippi Department of Corrections recently announced the January, February and March Central Mississippi Correctional Facility and Region II Community Corrections employee award recipients for the first quarter of 2013. Employees from Natchez receiving honors were:

• Johnny Jackson, correctional officer — extra effort award for February

• Slovicka Thomas, correctional service aide — extra effort award for February

• Corey Kaho, correctional officer supervisor — security employee of the month for February

• Shanell Reed, correctional case manager — staff employee of the month for February
