BAKER, La. — After having to wait over two and a half days to resume Game 2 of the MAIS Class AA South State Championship series, Central Private School took no time putting the game out of reach.

The Rebels scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning en route to an 11-2 win over the Centreville Academy Tigers Sunday afternoon to sweep the best-of-three series and advance to the state championship series against Marshall Academy.

Central Private had a 4-2 lead over Centreville with the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of the sixth when play was halted due to rain late in the afternoon last Thursday. The game was then rescheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday and the Rebels’ bats went to work quickly.
