NATCHEZ — A Natchez teen is behind bars after reportedly shooting a man three times this weekend for teasing him.

Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said Devanta J. Givens, 17, 204 Cloverdale Road, was reportedly drinking alcohol Friday at Susie B. West Apartments with an acquaintance when the acquaintance began teasing Givens.

Givens reportedly went home, got a rifle and came back and shot the victim three times, twice in the chest and once in the groin. The victim is expected to live, Ford said.

Givens was charged with aggravated assault and is being held without bond.
