050713 TomKStewart obitpicALBANY, La. — Services for Tom Kent Stewart, 73, a lifetime resident of Albany, La., who died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Albany with the Rev. Dan Munson officiating.

Graveside services and Masonic services will follow at Old Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, north of Albany, under the direction of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Hammond, La.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Stewart was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Albany, where he was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years.

Tom was a member of the Masonic Lodge, both in Albany and Independence, La. He was a self-employed insurance agent for more than 30 years. He was an avid hunter and co-founder of the Tri-Parish Wild Turkey Chapter.

Mr. Stewart will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Myrtle Stilley Stewart; one daughter, Sylvia Darlene Stewart; and an infant brother, Thomas Bryant Stewart.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Stewart; four children, Sheryl Ann Stewart and husband, Randy, Glenda Stewart Hazlip, Thomas Allen Stewart and Lanette Stewart Albin and husband, Joel; and eight grandchildren, Jeremy and Christen Stewart, Carly and Daniel Hazlip, Kacie and Trenton Stewart and Justin and Jarret Albin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Mr. Stewart to First Baptist Church in Albany, P.O. Box 1257, Albany, LA 70711.
