NATCHEZ — Services for James “Mike” Jones Sr., 83, of Natchez, who died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Kingston with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Jones was born in Adams County, the son of Willie Lewis Jones and Stella Reynolds. He was retired from Adams County public school system where he worked as a mechanic at the bus barn.

Mr. Jones was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Johnson Jones; two sisters, Annie Dobbins Thomas and Marie Scott; two brothers, Willie “Son” Jones and Willie “Bula” Jones; and one grandson, Leonnard Jackson Jr.

Survivors include six children, Mildred Hayes and husband, Walter, Margaret Jones-Hunt, Audrey Queen, James F. Jones and wife, Rose, Leola Fitzgerald and husband, Johnnie, and Linda Jones Jackson; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Addie Bland and Alice James, all of Natchez, and Gloria Swanier of New Orleans.
