NATCHEZ — Services for Lawrence Hawkins, 52, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 6, 2013, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. today at Smithland Baptist Church in Cannonsburg with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Hawkins was born Oct. 28, 1960, in Natchez, the son of Samuel Hawkins Jr. and Mary January Hawkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, L.V. Hawkins.

Survivors include his wife, Rukiya Minor Hawkins; two sons, Lawrence Hawkins Jr. and Denzelle Minor; five sisters, Barbara Green, Jessie White, Juanita Hawkins, Betty Collins and Mary Lee Allen; one special cousin, William Washington Hence Jr.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
