Ferriday woman seriously injured in wreck

Rapides Parish — A Ferriday woman was seriously injured after the vehicle she was driving collided with a tree early Tuesday morning.

Ashley Stutson, 21, was driving southbound on Louisiana 1205 at approximately 6:30 a.m. when she lost control and veered off the roadway, colliding with the tree, according to a news release from the Louisiana State Police.

Stutson was wearing a seatbelt, but received serious injuries. She was booked into Rapides Regional Medical Center Intensive Care Unit and was in serious condition Tuesday afternoon.

Routine toxicology tests are pending and the crash remains under investigation, according to Louisiana State Police.
