NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Mary Ruth Bowman Sturdivant, 84, of Frisco, Texas, and formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, May 31, 2013, at The Lodge on Preston Ridge in Frisco, will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Red Buie officiating.

Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sturdivant was born June 12, 1928, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Albert Lee and Mary Elizabeth Bowman. She and her husband were the former owners of Dixie Furniture Company in Natchez. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Natchez. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Alton Sturdivant; and one brother, Earnest Bowman.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Sturdivant Montgomery and husband, David, of Dallas; one son, Ronald L. Sturdivant and wife, Linda, of Memphis; four grandchildren, Cameron Benton and husband, Lee, of Flowood, Brian Jay Sturdivant and Amy C. Sturdivant, both of Memphis, and Jennifer P. Williams and husband, Travis, of Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Travis Hamilton Williams, Price Montgomery Williams, John Taylor Williams, all of Dallas, McKena Fisher of Flowood and Keaton Benton of Flowood; one adopted son, Darrell D. Smith Sr. of Natchez; two sisters, Johnnie S. Perrault of Natchez and Virginia S. Cavin of Woodville; two brothers, Archie “Buddy” Bowman and wife, Sylvia, of Spokane, Wa., and James Lee “Jimmy” Bowman and wife, Joyce, of Vicksburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.
