NATCHEZ — Services for Carrie Mae Walker, 91, of Jackson, who died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Easter Star rites at 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Walker was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Adams County, the daughter of Alvin Fells and Alvie Fells. She was a former resident of Natchez and New Orleans, pre-Katrina.

Mrs. Walker was a nurse. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter Seven of New Orleans.

She was Baptist.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Alvie Mazique Irving; and her husband, Leonard “LJ” Walker.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Delores Stone and husband, Wadell, Carolyn Broomfield and husband, Calvin, Anthony Irving and wife, Chiquita, Robert Irving and wife, Melanie, and Larry Owens and her husband, Kevin; a number of great- grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Irving, Kiana Stone, Laila Stone and Carter Stone; and a number of other relatives and friends.
