NATCHEZ — An Adams County man was arrested last weekend in connection with an early June stabbing.

Elbert Bernell King Jr., 21, 20 Applewood Road, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault Friday. He was later released on a $5,000 bond.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said King and another man were at the equestrian center on Muddy Fork Road, where several people were practicing livestock roping, at the time of the incident.

King and the second man reportedly got into an argument, which led to the stabbing, which damaged the victim’s liver, Mayfield said.

At the time of the incident, the sheriff said those present claimed they did not see anything.

The victim is recovering from his wounds, Mayfield said.
