ROXIE — Funeral services for Mrs. Gloriasteen Gibson, 84, of Roxie, who died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 1 p.m. at the Franklin High School auditorium with the Rev. Frank Sullivan officiating.

Burial will follow at Freewood Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.obits 132

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service at the Franklin County High School auditorium.

Mrs. Gibson was born Feb. 15, 1929 in Roxie, the daughter of Perry and Grace Havard Noble. She drove a school bus for many years. She accepted Christ at an early age, and at age 10 she joined Crosby Church of God in Christ; after marriage she joined St. James Baptist Church in Freewood, serving in many roles, including secretary, church mother and Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Pauline Gibson.

Survivors include three loving and devoted daughters, Gloria Queen and husband, Ronald, of Vicksburg, Juanita Stephens and husband, Robert, of New York, and Idell McShan and husband Dr. Maurice McShan of Byram; four loving and devoted sons, Edward Gibson of Freewood, James Gibson and wife, Tomicha, of Los Angeles, Quinnis Gibson and wife, Shelly, of Kansas City, and Leon Gibson and wife, Erma, of McComb; and adopted son and daughter after her own heart, Lawrence Foley and wife Etta, of Roxie; one sister, Rose Jones of Biloxi, one brother, Robert Noble of Milwaukee; a prayer partner and best friend, Beatrice Williams of Roxie; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
