NATCHEZ — The Adams County Christian School’s girls’ soccer team will now have to wait until Saturday to open up the 2013 season after the Lady Rebels’ home game against Oak Forest Academy scheduled for Wednesday was postponed.

ACCS head coach Jimmy Allgood said the game will be rescheduled. When it will be played has yet to be determined.

Allgood said when the schedule for the 2013 season first came out earlier this summer, he was concerned that the other teams would have players who would not be able to play because of other activities such as cheer camp and band camp. Those concerns proved true Wednesday.

Now, ACCS will begin its season when it hosts its invitational tournament on Saturday. Right now, three teams are scheduled to participate in what Allgood calls a “friendly round-robin tournament” — ACCS, Brookhaven Academy and Madison-Ridgeland Academy.

He added that he may try to get a few other teams to play in the tournament if possible. If not, he said all three schools will have high school and junior varsity teams playing.
