RAYMOND — Jordan Parker’s eighth goal of the season wasn’t enough as the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels lost to the Central Hinds Academy Lady Cougars 7-1 Wednesday afternoon in ACCS’s district opener.

Parker scored her goal in the 63rd minute of the game, but by that time ACCS was already trailing 7-0. Despite the lopsided loss, head coach Jimmy Allgood was pleased with how his team played in the second half.

“The second half, we kind of settled down. It was 5-0 at halftime. We turned up the aggression and played a little better, in my opinion,” Allgood said.

He added that several players on the team are playing with slight leg injuries that he hopes will go away soon. He also noted that the team does have some stuff to work on.

“Our passing and trapping game basically didn’t show up today. We’re going to get better on passing and trapping, without a doubt,” Allgood said.

ACCS (2-3, 0-1) plays again at 4 p.m. Friday at home against Park Place Christian.

The Lady Rebels went 2-2 last Saturday at the ACCS Invitational Tournament. They defeated Brookhaven Academy 8-0 and 6-0 and lost to Madison-Ridgeland Academy 8-0 and 5-0.

In the first win over Brookhaven Academy, Parker scored four goals while Morgan Blanton, Karrigan Eidt, Amber Morace and Lindsey Peterman had one goal each.

In the second win over the Lady Cougars, Parker had a hat trick, Emily Wiggins scored two goals and Eidt scored one goal.
