NATCHEZ — Lloyd A. Smith, 93, a longtime resident of Natchez, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Ashland, Ohio, the son of Fred A. Smith and Esther Smith.

He was a World War II veteran and a retired superintendent of Exxon Corporation.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amy Smith; one brother, Fred Smith; and one sister, Nellie Hauser of Ohio.

Survivors include three sons, Gerald “Jerry” Smith of Shreveport, La., Rex Smith of Natchez and Louis “John” Smith of wife, Jean, of Ferriday; and two sisters, Elnore Bresson and Kay Derr of Ohio.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
