VIDALIA — Services for James Wiley Myers, Jr., 93, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Vidalia First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill McCullin officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Myers was born on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1920, in Brookhaven, the son of James Myers, Sr. and Ethel Pollard Myers.

He was a resident of Vidalia and member of Vidalia First Baptist Church. He was the original founder of Myers Electric Corporation in 1975 and was a member of the Good Sams RV club where he loved traveling with his wife and friends. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Gurard during World War II and retired from International Paper Company.

Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his wife, Colmetta Foster Myers; his parents; one son, Tommy Myers; one brother, Jack Myers; three sisters, Eiffie Lee Short, Mary Maude Frost and Annie Nell King.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Myers and wife, Pat, of Ferriday and Johnny Myers and wife, Susan, of Ferriday; one brother, Charles Myers and wife, Nell, of Smithdale; sister, Billie Doris King of Anguilla; three grandchildren Jay Myers and wife, Tracy, John Erick Myers and wife, Lyndsy and Bo Myers and wife, Mary Kate; four great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, Lauryn, Kinley and Kate; and sister-in-law, Carol Myers, of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Jay Myers, John Erick Myers, Bo Myers, Eddie Myers, Roger Jones and Ronnie Myers.

The faimly will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Vidalia First Baptist Church.
