Love is all you need this festival season

It’s time for the Natchez Festival of Music and top events this fall leading up to the 24th May Festival “All You Need is Love” Musical Season — and there will be a lot of it!

The May festival signature event will be a cool, far-out and groovy 50th anniversary tribute to The Beatles on Saturday, May 10, at the Natchez City Auditorium, and you won’t have to be decked out to attend.

The crowd will not be disappointed in the Classical Mystery Tour group because the performers are about the best I’ve seen for the look and sound of John, Paul, George and Ringo!

The Los Angeles Times said they are more than just an incredible simulation.

Tickets will go on sale soon, but it’s not too early to book hotel or B&B accommodations for May.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Sept. 26, the first evening of Natchez Fall Pilgrimage, the University of Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra presents “Eternal Elegance, An Evening of Beautiful Music of Mozart and Beethoven,” a splendid performance of beautiful pieces perfect for relaxation and unwinding after a hard day.

To the innkeepers and restaurants, please recommend this event to Natchez pilgrimage guests.

Then, on Saturday, Oct. 26, the University of Southern Mississippi Opera presents “Così fan tutte,” Mozart’s beloved opera, which is somewhat naughty and a lot of fun.

It is about disguises, hilarious farce and poignant drama when the ties of love are tested and discoveries are made that “this is how all women do it.”

Treat yourself to the school for lovers.

Both events will be at Margaret Martin Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m., and the Grape Escape Club Room will open an hour before each performance.

Both of these fall events have student and active military specials.

On Friday, Dec. 6, A Christmas Cabaret returns with a stage production of favorite, traditional songs performed by professional entertainers who will keep the audience spellbound and laughing.

This is the perfect event for a gathering of family, friends and office staff. You will leave remembering why this is the best time of the year!
