NATCHEZ — Services for Irene Booker Brewer, 73, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at Promise Rehabilitation Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 1 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brewer was born March 22, 1940, in Natchez, the daughter of Jack Hardy Booker and Lottie Montgomery Booker. She was a graduate of Wilkinson County High School and was elected Miss Wilkinson County Forest Queen.

Mrs. Brewer was a retired nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carl Booker, Jack Dulane Booker and Hardy Dewayne “Jack” Booker; and three sisters, Vola Mae Novac, Lula Alexander and her twin, Morene Sumerall.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Brewer Sr.; one daughter, Valda Harveston of Sevierville, Tenn.; four stepsons, Bill Brewer Jr. of Union Town, Pa., Johnny Brewer of Calhoun, La., Hank Brewer and Chris Brewer, both of Natchez; one sister, Madalene Carter of Meadville; four grandchildren, Joseph Odenwald of Clifton, Smokey Joe Brewer of Lafayette, La., Lacy Brewer and Taylor Brewer, both of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers will be Bill Brewer Jr., Hank Brewer, Johnny Brewer, Smokey Joe Brewer, Joseph Odenwald and James Sumerall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Bonnette, Roland Schepers, Hardy Sumerall and Otis Sumerall Jr.
