Alton and Connie Magee of Vidalia announce the engagement of their daughter, Meagan Calkins, to Brian Smith, the son of Jimmy and Dolly Smith of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and Alcorn State University in Natchez. She is employed by Home Hardware Center in Vidalia.

She is the granddaughter of the late James and Doris Johnese of Vidalia.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Adams County Christian School in Natchez. He is employed by Home Hardware Center in Natchez.

He is the grandson of the late Gordon and Opal Brown of Bastrop, Texas, Donald and the late Rickey Smith of Natchez and Charlie and Geraldine Johnson of Mangham, La.

The wedding and reception will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Twin Oaks in Natchez.
