NATCHEZ — Services for Cecil Douglas Nettles, 77, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Covington Road Church of Christ with the Rev. Dick Root officiating.

Burial will follow at Nettles Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the church.

Mr. Nettles was born July 8, 1936, in Natchez, the son of Millard DeLeon Nettles Sr. and Hattie Mae Roy Nettles. He was a member of Covington Road Church of Christ.

Mr. Nettles was also an avid bowler and a member of the Natchez Men’s Bowling Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tammy Nettles Tynes; one brother, Roy Nettles; and two sisters, Lorraine Nettles Van Vlyman and Louise Wisner.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Nettles; one son, Dean Nettles of Byrum; one daughter, Wendy Nettles McGraw of Portland, Texas; nine grandchildren, Kristin Elizabeth Nettles, Heather Jean Nettles, Haley Suzanne Nettles, Amanda Brooke Walsworth, Colby Douglas Nettles, Jacey Ann Nettles, Shay Bullen, Michael McGraw III and Tammy McGraw; one great-grandchild, Slaine-David Douglas Nettles; two brothers, Millard “Sonny” Nettles and Percy Wayne Nettles; and one sister, Sandra Nettles.

Pallbearers will be Colby Nettles, Dalvis Dees, Tim Nettles, Shay Bullen, James Harry Isbell II and Steve Tynes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Covington Road Church of Christ.
