WESSON — Daniel Fitzwater threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns on 21-for-31 passing to lead No. 6 Co-Lin to a 19-10 win over No. 11 Hinds Community College Thursday night in an MACJC South Division game.
Fitzwater had an 18-yard touchdown pass to Koy McFarland in the early stages of the first quarter and iced the win for the Wolves with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Casey Gladney with 3:24 remaining in the ball game.
Blayne Jones added a pair of 26-yard field goals for Co-Lin, which improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in division play.
Hinds got a 31-yard field goal from Joseph Houston late in the first quarter and a 13-yard touchdown pass from James Summers to Keithon Redding with 13:06 to go in the fourth quarter that made it a 12-10 ball game.
The Wolves decided not to sit on their two-point lead with plenty of time still left in the game. Their final scoring drive took six plays and went 72 yards.
Co-Lin doesn’t play again until Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at Jones County Community College in Ellisville.
