Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace!”

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Castor was born in Dustin, Okla., one of 12 children, to Mr. and Mrs. Frank “Frankie” Crawford. She married Louis Monroe Castor Jr. in Midland, Texas, in 1952 and they had four children, Mark, Melinda, Julie and Jamie. During their marriage, they had a number of “homes,” as Louis pursued his career in the oil business.

They moved to Natchez in 1976 where Louis worked until his death in 1994. In 2001, Joyce moved to Tomball, Texas, to join her daughter and family. She spent the remainder of her life there.

While living in Natchez, she was active at First Baptist Church and taught a ladies Sunday School class for a number of years. She loved to share her faith and God’s word. She also volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at Natchez Regional Medical Center and was a member of the garden club. Her hobbies included reading, working crossword puzzles, watching old movies and loved spending time with friends and family both near and far.

Joyce loved life — never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face and a warm hug for you if you needed it or not.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Leona Scott; and six brothers, Harold Crawford, George Crawford, James Crawford, Ronnie Crawford, Donnie Crawford and Johnny Crawford.

Survivors include one son, Mark Castor and wife, Lucy; three daughters, Melinda Kuehn and husband, Sammy, Julie Hudson and husband, Donnie, and Jamie McDonough and husband, Kyle; three sisters, Wanda Schreiner, Ramona King and Gail Bonebrake; one brother, Dale Crawford; 10 grandchildren, Garrett and Zoe Castor, Weston Kuehn and wife, Tonia, Kody Kuehn, Rachel Miquel and husband, Roberto, Amanda Piper and husband, Stuart, Billy Paul Kuehn, Kaitlyn Melancon and husband, Glen, Jared Hudson and girlfriend, Blair Gautreau, Erin Delaune and husband, Kolton; and nine great-grandchildren, Bailey, Macy and Katy Piper, Aubrey Kuehn, Tenley and Kember Miquel, Payton and Avyn Kuehn and Hayes Hudson.
