Prep softball: ACCS postseason softball postponed

LIBERTY — The Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels were closing in on advancing through the losers’ bracket at the MAIS Class AA South State Tournament at Ethel Vance Park when rough weather rolled into the Liberty area.

Play was called at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday because of lightning and heavy rain and will resume at 11 a.m. Thursday. ACCS, the District 5-AA runner-up is leading the District 4-AA champion Park Place Christian Academy Lady Crusaders 6-3 in the top of the sixth inning and has a runner on first base and nobody out.

Wesson-Franklin County game rained out

MEADVILLE — An hour of steady and sometimes heavy rain in the late morning and into the early afternoon Tuesday caused Franklin County’s softball field to be covered in water, forcing Lady Bulldogs head coach Dana Smith to postpone their MHSAA Division 7-3A game against the Wesson Lady Cobras.

The game has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.
