ALEXANDRIA, La. — The Block Bears looked good offensively in the first half for the first time all season in taking a 20-7 lead into halftime on the road against Class 4A Peabody Magnet for the Warhorses’ homecoming game.

But the second half was a completely different story as Block’s offense bogged down and Peabody’s offense woke up at the right time as the Warhorses rallied to defeat the Bears 26-20 in overtime.

Peabody tied the game at 20-20 thanks to a pair of touchdown runs in the third quarter. The first one went for 50 yards and the second one went for 1 yard. After a scoreless fourth quarter, the Warhorses won the game on a 12-yard run.

Cameron Everett scored on a 1-yard run and Austin Danzy ran in for the 2-point conversion for a 14-0 Block lead with 1:41 left in the first quarter, but Pat Goof returned the ensuing kickoff 72 yards for a touchdown just 9 seconds later to make it a 14-7 game.

Block (0-4) plays at 7 p.m. Friday at Bossier High School.
