NATCHEZ — DISH subscribers will be able to watch CBS this weekend because of storm conditions.

DISH requested permission from Media General Friday morning to restore its stations as Tropical Storm Karen approaches the Gulf Coast. Media General has granted temporary permission in several markets through midnight Sunday night.

Media General blocked stations in 17 markets Tuesday when a retransmission contract expired.

“We are pleased Media General broke its silence and agreed with our request to serve viewers,” Dave Shull, DISH executive vice president, said. “While this permission is limited to four markets for two days, this is a productive outcome for viewers who rely on their local news the most.”

The stations in the following markets will be available to DISH customers starting Saturday 6 a.m. through 12:01 a.m.:

• Hattiesburg — WHLT (CBS, channel 22)

• Jackson — WJTV (CBS, channel 12)
