Samuel Dixon Cole III & Virginia Caroline Seale

Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Charles Seale of Shreveport, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia Caroline Seale, to Samuel Dixon Cole IV, son of the late Mr. Samuel Dixon Cole III and Mrs. Walter Benjamin Huffman Jr. of Wildwood Plantation, Catahoula Parish.

The bride-to-be, whose mother is the former Virginia Ann Leckie, graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. She was a Duke TIP program participant, studied at the Advance Program for TIP students in middle school and high school and attended the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts.

She is an honor graduate of both Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

At LSU, she was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Order of Omega, Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.

In addition, she was recognized on campus by being nominated for both outstanding junior student and for the homecoming court.

She was active in Delta Gamma Fraternity and received a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts with a concentration in art history.

At Middle Tennessee State University she earned a Bachelor of Science in recording industry, production and technology and was recognized by Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

The bride-to-be was presented in Shreveport by the Plantation Club and was a Demoiselle Club debutante. She was also presented on the court of the Holiday in Dixie Cotillion Club.

She has worked in both the music and movie industries and currently is the proprietor of Foxtrot Events, LLC, of New Orleans. She is a member of the Junior League of New Orleans, Louisiana Society of Mayflower Descendants and the Baton Rouge Symphony League and Opera Guild.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Ray Sydnor Leckie of Shreveport and the late Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Loid Seale of Alexandria, La.

The groom-to-be, whose mother is the former Carolyn Edith Davis, graduated high school from the Louisiana School of Math, Science and the Arts, where he was designated a National Merit Scholar.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is a licensed professional engineer specializing in industrial automation consulting for the energy industry.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Howard Davis Jr. of Clayton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Dixon Cole Jr. of Ridgecrest.

The wedding will take place in early January at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Shreveport.

The afternoon ceremony will be officiated by the Rev. Kenneth W. Paul, Rector Emeritus of the Church of the Holy Cross, Shreveport and the very Rev. Alston B. Johnson, Dean of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral.

A reception will follow at the Shreveport Yacht Club.

After the wedding, the couple will reside in New Orleans.
