FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Sharon LaNell Temple Briggs, 39, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, in Acme, after losing a courageous battle with cancer, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou Church in Ferriday, with the Rev. Jeremy Howington officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ms. Briggs was born Oct. 15, 1974, the daughter of Roy and Sharon Lynette Temple.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Lynette Temple; maternal grandparents, Buddy and Willie Mae Temple; paternal grandparents, Walter and Marie Whittington; and step-father, Billy Baker.

Survivors include her father, Roy Temple and wife, Lisa of Ferriday; daughter, Kelsey Briggs and fiancé, James Denny of Ferriday; son, Blaine Briggs of Frogmore, La.; granddaughter, Chloe Denny of Ferriday; two step-sisters, Jennifer Bauer and husband, Donald of New Orleans and Rachelle Seymour and husband, Jay of Sicily Island, La.; brother, Richard Temple of Vidalia; ex-husband, Andy Briggs of Frogmore; special friends, Melissa and Gretchen Barrett; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jim Whittington, Cody Cowan, Glen Whittington, Jason Whittington, Heath Whittington, Butch Hammett and Shelton Seals.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Briggs, J.B. Seymour and James Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LaNell Memorial Fund at Young’s Funeral Home.
