LORMAN — Alcorn State University’s chief financial officer resigned Thursday amid reports of financial discrepancies reported to the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning.

Hank M. Bounds, commissioner of higher education, confirmed the resignation of Betty Roberts Thursday in an email saying a review of the reports is ongoing.

“My office received reports of financial discrepancies, and staff members are reviewing those reports,” Bounds stated. “The review is still ongoing, and there will be nothing else to report at this time.”
