FERRIDAY — Funeral services for James Bethley, 70, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rufus Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Reed officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bethley was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Clayton, the son of Shep and Sarah Gordon Bethley Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roosevelt Brown, Frank Brown Sr. and Rev. Shep Bethley Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Givens and husband, Floyd, of Cartersville, Ga., and Tanya Johnston and husband, Phillip, of Copperas Cove, Texas; three sisters, Hattie Ruth Bethley, Leatrice Allen and husband, Bobby, Beatrice Heard and husband, Luke “Sonny,” all of Ferriday; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
