Please, pick up after your pet

This is a plea to all of the animal lovers in downtown Natchez. Sunday morning, my husband and I were walking to church downtown.

I stopped to help an elderly lady get out of her car. Unknowing, I stepped in a large dog deposit.

I went into church, and kneeled to pray when I began to smell a terrible odor. Church started, and I kept looking around.

Soon I discovered it was from my shoe. I had to take my shoe off, wrap it in the church bulletin, and exit the church to the ladies room to try to clean my shoe.

We have a dog and walk her every day, but we always take a bag and clean up wherever we go. I hope this does not happen to you, and I am glad it was me and not the handicapped lady. I hope you will remember this true story every time you take your dog out for a walk, and be thoughtful of others.
