 NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Myrtle C. Parsons, 94, of Collierville, Tenn., formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in Collierville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.

Burial will follow in the cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parsons was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Lincoln County, the daughter of Abner and Ophelia Case.

She graduated from Loyd Star High School. She married Russel E. Parsons in 1940 and they lived together in Natchez and Hanford, Cali., before returning to Natchez in 1973, where they later retired. Mrs. Parsons moved to Collierville in 1996.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her two sons and her grandson.

Mrs. Parsons was a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist and Collierville United Methodist Churches.

Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russel Earl Parsons; and one grandson, Gregg Russel Parsons.

Survivors include one son, Frank Carey Parsons and wife, Judith, of Collierville; one grandson, Blake Russel Parsons and wife, Allison, of Nashville; and one brother, Alton Case.
