RIDGELAND — St. Andrew’s scored four of its five goals in the second half as the Lady Saints defeated the Cathedral Lady Green Wave 5-0 in the first round of the MHSAA Class 1A/2A/3A South State Playoffs Thursday afternoon.

“In the second half, they got three (goals) within the first 15 minutes. That took the wind out of us,” head coach Donovan Silva said.

St. Andrew’s scored again later in the second half and kept Cathedral from getting the ball in the back of the net. Despite the shutout loss, the Lady Green Wave got 23 saves from goalkeeper Kaylee Sanders.
