PRENTISS — Tory Laird finished with 13 points while Ashleigh Williams had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds as the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels defeated the Prentiss Christian School Lady Saints 49-20 Friday night in an MAIS District 5-AA game.

ACCS pretty much had its way with Prentiss Christian throughout the first half. The Lady Rebels didn’t take long to open up a double-digit lead en route to a 23-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Then they outscored the Lady Saints 13-7 in the second quarter for a 36-11 halftime lead and never looked back.

With the win, ACCS (22-4, 7-1) clinched the No. 1 seed for next week’s District 5-AA Tournament at Central Hinds Academy, which starts Thursday. The Lady Rebels will take on the No. 4 seed at a time to be determined.
