NATCHEZ — Concerns about hazardous driving conditions and the potential for power outages due to yet another winter storm to hit parts of Mississippi and Louisiana have forced some schedule changes for the MAIS Class A South Regional Tournament at Tallulah Academy in Tallulah, La.

The eight-team postseason tournament was scheduled to start on Tuesday, but the threat of freezing rain, especially on bridges and overpasses, in portions northeast Louisiana and west-central Mississippi led the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools with no choice but to push back the start of the tournament.

The games that were to take place on Tuesday will now take place today with the times remaining the same.

The MAIS Class A South Regional Tournament was not the only games having to be rescheduled due to the treacherous weather.

Ferriday High School’s LHSAA District 2-2A varsity games at Jonesboro-Hodge High School have been postponed from Tuesday to today beginning at 6 p.m.
