MONTEREY — Services for Harry Freeman Blount Jr. 88, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. today at Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Billy Wallace officiating.

Burial will follow in Monterey First Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Blount was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Monterey, the son of Harry Freeman Blount Sr. and Mattie Brousard Blount.

He was a lifelong resident of Monterey. Bozo’s greatest love was his family and farming.

Mr. Blount was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Dick Blount, Clyde Blount, Phillip Blount and Willard Blount; two sisters, Margrete Wade and Lucy Farmer; and one granddaughter, Lacey Huntsman.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ellie Vivian Blount; two sons, Roy Blount and Joe Blount; three daughters, Kathleen Huntsman, Jante Ashenbrenner, and Lisa Lucas; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Inis Lanehart.

Pallbearers will be Jason Butts, Matthew Ashenbrenner, Dillian Butts, Christopher Morgan, Tommie Blount and James Blount.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Blount, Morris Miller Wilson, Buster Ford, Dave Fancher, Donnie Burley, Jonathan Dean, Patrick McCarthy, T. D. Pugh and Evert Poole.
