Bobby Joe Thornton Sr.

Nov. 5, 1935 – March 15, 2014

MEADVILLE — Services for Bobby Joe Thornton Sr., 78, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Adams County Nursing Home, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. Peyton Sparks officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Thornton was born Nov. 5, 1935, in Franklin County, the son of Curtis James Thornton and Vada Murray Thornton.

Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janie R. Thornton; one brother, Julius Thornton; one brother-in-law, Leeman Britt; and one granddaughter, Jana Elizabeth Thornton.

Survivors include five sons, Bobby Joe Thornton Jr. and wife, Theresa, Curtis Benton Thornton and wife, Sherelene, Dale Edward Thornton, Robin Darryl Thornton and Levi Klineman; one sister, Dorothy Rae Britt; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Thornton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; special friends, Vicky Netterville and the Under the Hill gang; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Thornton Jr., Curtis Benton Thornton, Dale Edward Thornton, Robin Darryl Thornton, Levi Klineman and Gene Loftin.
