NATCHEZ — Two people have died and a third has been transported by helicopter for treatment from an automobile wreck on Providence Road.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said the driver of the car apparently lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree a short distance from Providence Road’s intersection with Government Fleet Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victims who died in the wreck have not yet been identified, Mayfield said, and will require extraction from the vehicle.
