Adams County Justice Court Cases

March 14-20:

Crystal M. Reynolds pleaded guilty to sale of tobacco to a minor. Reynolds also pleaded guilty to sale of beer/wine to a minor.

Darnettra Griffin pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.

Paul Scott pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.

Louis M. McCurdy pleaded guilty to stalking. McCurdy also pleaded guilty to telephone harassment.

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Tuesday, March 18:

Lee Raymond Smith pleaded guilty to the lesser felony crime of manslaughter in Judge Forrest “Al” Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 20 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After serving 15 years, the defendant shall be placed on formal reporting post-release supervision for five years with the MDOC. Full credit given for time served in the Adams County Jail as allowed by law. Must pay a prosecution fee of $200 and all court costs and fees.

Latravis Clay pleaded guilty to the lesser felony crime of manslaughter in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 10 years in the MDOC. Full credit given for time served in the Adams County Jail as allowed by law. Must pay a prosecution fee of $200 and all court costs and fees.

Natchez Municipal Court Cases

Tuesday, March 4:

James Earl Banks Jr., 23, charged with armed robbery. Waived preliminary hearing. Case bound over to a grand jury. Bond reduced to $35,000.

Monday, March 17:

Michael Jerome Coleman Jr., 20, charged with simple assault — domestic violence. Case retired to files — victim failed to appear. Coleman Jr. was also charged with simple assault — domestic violence. Case retired to files — victim failed to appear.

Bench warrant issued for Vanisha Wade after she failed to appear on a served subpoena.

Travonte Griffin, 25, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $493.

Gregory Zaquille Givens, 21, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $493.

Josephine Abell Bailey, 32, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $473.

Tuesday, March 18:

Lakei T. Green, 29, charged with possession or carrying a concealed weapon — felon. Upon the surrender of seized weapon for destruction, this case is dismissed with prejudice and the defendant is discharged.

Joseph Martin III, 48, charged with aggravated assault — domestic violence — felony. Case bound over to a grand jury after preliminary hearing held. Bond set at $10,000.

Bryan Keith Carroll, 24, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a schedule I substance. Sentenced to 60 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. Fine set at $560.

Tyrone Lee McGriff, 23, charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling with a weapon. Case bound over to a grand jury after preliminary hearing held. Bond set at $135,000.

Bryan Carroll, 24, pleaded guilty to improper equipment — busted taillight. Fine set at $152.

Wednesday, March 19:

Kimberly Thompson, 41, found guilty of shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 13 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 17 days in jail. Banned from Belk. Fine set at $1,025.

Renord Mazique, 63, charged with disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Case dismissed — officer failed to appear on subpoena. Mazique was also charged with resisting arrest. Case dismissed — officer failed to appear on subpoena.

Hollis Green pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from store. Fine set at $573.

Larry Clark, 61, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $323.
