Natchez — Two Adams County men were arrested Thursday on charges they — along with several others —beat a man during a drug deal gone bad.

Ravontae Rosha Jenkins, 20, 118 Ivy Lane, and Devon Lerrell Sweazy, 22, 501 Lower Woodville Road, were arrested by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or other means.

Sweazy allegedly met the victim of the crime for a drug transaction on Lower Woodville Road, according to an ACSO spokesperson.

The victim told investigators Sweazy allegedly walked to the driver’s side window of his vehicle and struck him in the face, opened the door and pulled the victim from the vehicle before striking him behind his left ear and over his right eye with a pistol before asking him “Where’s the stuff?”

When the victim asked Sweazy “what stuff” he was talking about, five other males accompanying Sweazy began punching and kicking the victim until he told them what they were looking for was in his vehicle, the spokesperson said.

The attackers fled the area on foot.

Jenkins is alleged to be one of the five attackers.

Jenkins and Sweazy were detained on $75,000 bonds Friday.

The matter is still under investigation.
