Delta Sigma Theta hosts Debutante Cotillion

Published 12:05 am Friday, April 11, 2014

The Natchez Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host its 22nd annual Debutante Cotillion at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Natchez Convention Center. The theme for this year Debutante Cotillion is “The Unveiling: Revealing the Queen Within.”

Webster defines a queen as a goddess or a thing personified as female and having supremacy in a specified realm. Queen is an appropriate term to describe the three young ladies waiting to make their debut into society.

This year’s coterie of debutantes exemplified and demonstrated academic excellence, strong moral character and exhibition of values, and outstanding dedication to serving the community. The debutantes participated in various activities as they progressed toward making the finale — the Debutante Cotillion. Some of the activities included various bonding experiences, the Doris Pollard Mother- Daughter Signature Tea, and Father-Daughter Date Night. Also, upon acceptance to a college/university, each debutante will receive a scholarship to further their education.
