NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Gay Smith, 67, of Ferriday, who died Friday, April 11, 2014 at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 3 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Preston Holder and the Rev. Denny Braswell officiating.

Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 6, 1946, in Hazlehurst, the daughter of Percy Quentin Weathersby and Ernie Jewell Thompson Weathersby. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law, and she was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill and Arnold Weathersby; a grandson, Devon Smith, and a nephew, Mike Weathersby.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Smith; two sons, Charles Smith and wife Kathy, of Tensas Parish, and Ray Smith and wife Crystal, of Florence; one daughter, Andrea Smith of Clayton; five grandchildren, Allen Smith, Patsy Smith, Will Smith and wife Brittany, Nathaniel Smith and Danielle Smith; and two great grand-children, Alexis Edwards and Johnathon Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Will Smith Jr., Allen Smith, Nathaniel Smith, Kathy Keyes Smith, Raymond Davis and Wade Smith.
