Eggapalooza hatches something fun

The definition of an “apalooza” is an exaggerated event. On Saturday, the Natchez State Park along with Natchez Church of God will be having just that.

The first Eggapalooza will start at 10 a.m. at the Natchez State Park. You are not going to want to miss out on this egg-citing event for our community.

There will be games, face painting and door prizes. There will be a time of devotion.

Then around 10:30 a.m., the Easter egg hunt will begin. Kids will be searching for 10,000 eggs. Kids will be separated by ages for them to hunt in their designated area. Kids of all ages are welcome.

Bring your Easter basket to collect your goodies. There will be candy eggs, toy eggs and some hidden prize eggs as well.

At 11 a.m., hamburgers and hotdogs with all the trimmings will be available for your enjoyment cooked by our very own Luke Brumfield, who will be cooking in memory of his brother, Tyler Brumfield. Tyler was always ready to cook some burgers for the kids.

Several local businesses have been gracious enough and donated all kinds of goodies for two huge Easter basket giveaways. There will be a kids basket and a basket for an adult.

There will even be a gift card or two for some local shopping just in time for Easter to pick up a few last minute items.

The whole event is free for everyone, so bring your entire family to Natchez State Park on Saturday.

Also, the kids in Kidz Kingdom at Natchez Church of God have been working hard to raise $1,000 for this event, because if they did, then they get to slime the leaders.

So, the Rev. Michael Messer, Tina Rollins, Linda Hampton and myself will be slimed for the second year in a row, along with some other great people.

You are not going to want to miss this.

So please join us for our first Eggapalooza out at the Natchez State Park this Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. for some free family fun.

Then on Sunday morning, Natchez Church of God’s praise band and choir will be presenting “Believe — Life After the Resurrection” starting at 10:45 a.m. The church is located at 98 McNeely Road here in Natchez.

If you would like more information, please call the church office at 601-445-5135 or email us at contact@natchezchurchofgod.com.
