Junior Burnette and Debbie Hutton of Vidalia announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Burnette to Ryan Thomas, son of Cagle and Gail Thomas of Vidalia.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and is a graduate of University of Louisiana at Monroe.

She is employed by Natchez Oncology.

She is the granddaughter of James Preston Smith of New Orleans, the late Doris Valentine Smith of Vidalia and the late Curtis Burnette Sr. and Mamie Burnette of Ferriday.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and a graduate of University of Louisiana at Monroe.

He is employed by Concordia Bank and Trust Company in Monterey.

He is the grandson of Frances Gregory and the late Leo Gregory and the late Tommy and Betty Thomas all of Columbia, La.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at the Briars in Natchez.

A reception will follow.
