Mrs. Patricia Lozon and Mr. David Cothren of Natchez and Mr. and Mrs. Leftwich of Canton, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen Lorraine Leftwich to William Lanier Lannom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carr of Southaven and Mr. and Mrs. Lannom of Memphis, Tenn.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Savannah Arts Academy and the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in English, and the University of Memphis with a master’s degree in English.

She is employed by Desoto County Schools in Olive Branch as an English teacher and soccer coach.

She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Emma Lee Leftwich and the late Carl David Leftwich of Raymonville, Texas, and Mr. Gary Lee Patrick and Mrs. Judith Ann Patrick of Goreville, Ill., and Mrs. Devona Ann Redmer of Wis.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Southaven High School, the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in English, and the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering.

He is employed by Teleflex Medical as a quality engineer in Olive Branch.

He is the grandson of the late Mrs. Dorothy Bernice Watson Lanier and Mr. William Franklin Lanier of Covington, Tenn., and Mrs. Jean Harness Lannom and Mr. William Earl Lannom of Hernando.

An engagement party will be at 2 p.m., May 17, 2014, at Retirement Plantation in Natchez.
