RALEIGH, N.C. — Roses Discount Stores, a division of Variety Wholesalers, Inc., a Fortune 500 privately held company, opened its newest location in Natchez at 436 U.S. 61 last week.

This new Roses Express, an addition to the growing Roses Discount Stores chain, provides 40 new jobs.

“There is no other town to be in like Natchez on grand opening day,” President of Variety Wholesalers Wilson Sawyer said. “As Natchez gears up to celebrate their tricentennial filled with events, reenactments and festivals, Roses Express is here to celebrate with them honoring history, culture and community. It is certainly a great time to be in Natchez.”

Natchez Mayor Butch Brown attended the grand opening.

“With a company that has such a rich history like Natchez, and as we get ready to celebrate 300 years, it was appropriate to support such a company that flourishes and provides so much to the communities they positively impact by providing jobs, specifically 40 jobs right here in Natchez,” Brown said.
